Simplified Samples
Simplified Samples are printed samples of your packaging without any added finishes. They're the perfect type of sample if you're looking to visualize the outcome of your artwork directly on your packaging, keeping in mind that the actual colors in production could look slightly different.
What's Included

Deliverables
For each Simplified Sample, you will receive:
✅ 1 Simplified Sample delivered to your doorstep
✅ 1 dieline* of the Simplified Sample
*Note: dielines for inserts are only provided as part of our structural design service.
Limitations
Since simplified samples are made with sampling machines and printed with digital printers, they can have a couple of limitations:
- They can only be printed using CMYK, therefore Pantone or white ink cannot be used. If you want to test Pantone or white ink, opt for a Press Proof or Pre-production Sample instead.
- Because these are printed with digital printers, colors will not be accurate to final production and they will be duller (pictured on the left). If you would like an accurate color representation, consider getting a Print Proof as well.
- There may be creases and tears, particularly along fold lines (pictured on the right), and can be harder to fold.
- Due to more streamlined drying processes, flute lines may be more visible.
Process & Timeline
Generally, Simplified Samples take 6-8 days to complete and 7-10 days to ship.
Specify requirements
Choose the packaging type and define the specs (e.g. size, material).
Place sample order
Pay only for the cost of the sample.
Create dieline (2-3 days)
We'll create the dieline for you to add your artwork to.
Send artwork
Add your artwork to the dieline and send it back to us for approval.
Create sample (4-5 days)
The sample will be printed based on the artwork file you've sent over.
Ship sample (7-10 days)
We'll send photos and mail the physical sample to your specified address.
Cost
Simplified Samples are available for all packaging types except rigid boxes.
*Note: Simplified Samples of custom box inserts are available if you provide us with a dieline of the insert. If you don't have a dieline for your insert, we can help you design the insert as part of our structural design service.
Reimbursement Policy
Simplified Samples can be fully reimbursed upon ordering 500 units and up.
If you have multiple samples per item that are eligible for reimbursement, you'll receive a reimbursement on the most expensive sample.
Note: sticker samples are not eligible for reimbursement.
Revisions & Redesigns
Before placing an order for a Simplified Sample, please double check the specifications and details of your sample. Changes in scope and artwork after the sample has been created will come with additional costs.
- The box lid is too tight and it's hard to open the box
- The box doesn't close properly
- For inserts, the product is too tight or too loose in the insert
